- A white candle
- Frankincense resin or essential oil
- A fire-safe dish or candle holder
The working
- Anoint the candle with a little frankincense, letting your mind settle on the wish for a safe, steady path.
- Light the candle on a flat, clear surface in front of you.
- Rest your hands on the table at a safe distance from the flame, breathe deeply, and let yourself grow calm and grounded as you watch the light.
(Mind the practical craft too: never leave a flame unattended, and keep hands, hair, and sleeves well clear — a careful practitioner is the first protection.)
